Khabarovsk Airport (OJSC) was established in February 2005 by the order of the Government of Khabarovsk Krai in order to develop Khabarovsk airport into the hub of federal importance.

In February 2006, 100% of Khabarovsk Airport shares were consolidated by Alliance Group.

With the help of advisors Simat Helliesen & Eichner, a long-term development plan was drawn up for the airport.

In December 2009, a consortium of Incheon International Airport and Daewoo Engineering was involved in development of a master plan for further development.

Capital expenditures on the airport infrastructure exceeded RUB 1 billion.
